Contemporary Music
As a composition student at the Bern University of Arts (HKB), and before at the Conservatoire Populaire de Genève (CPMDT), Ezequiel Cappellano as achieved lot of contemporary music projects. For those who are not acquainted with this kind of music, it is classical music composed close to the present day and after the World War II. It is about pushing the boundaries of what we consider music by exploring new combinations of sounds.
Here are a few exemples:
Not necessarily acoustic (14')
Program note:
"The departure point of this piece is to give to the accordion something that it cannot do by its nature: the glissando technique. In order to attain this, an Ableton for Live Session with a pitch shifter patch for Max MSP is provided. The accordionist can manipulate the pitch of his/her instrument with the use of an USB expression pedal".

Culture Shifting (9')
Culture Shifting is a meeting point between two very distanced cultures: the Syrian and the Selk’nam (the native people of the island of Tierra del Fuego, the extreme south of the American continent, totally disappeared by the Argentineans and Chileans by the end of XIX century). The audience will appreciate some transcriptions of Syrian singer Adib el Dayekh and Lola Kiepja - one of the lastest Selk’nam survivor - treated in a personal way. In essence, it is a metamorphosis trip from one kind of folklore music to another one.
